If you watched any television over the past week, you probably saw a commercial for a large online florist offering to send mom a bouquet of tulips for “just $49.99″ or some similar ad. What you may not have considered is that those large internet companies are not providing personalized service, have huge profit margins and don’t always deliver the highest quality products. Wondering why you should buy local? We’ll tell you!
Quality Products- The most important thing we offer is a high quality product. You are welcome to come in person to our shop and select the flowers you would like to send. If you prefer to call us, we can tell you exactly what we have in stock and what may be appropriate for a particular occasion. You can be sure that we won’t sell you a pre-made arrangement that has been sitting in a fridge for days.
Excellent Value- When you shop online, the company that you are ordering with takes a cut of the profit and then has to pay a local business to make and deliver the arrangement. When you do business with Bartee’s Flowers, we do the work ourselves and can assure you that you’re getting the most for your money.
Accountability- If for any reason you aren’t happy with the product you receive from Bartee’s, you know who to call and we’ll make it right. When you aren’t happy with a product you ordered online, it can be difficult to reach their customer service department and even if you do, they aren’t the ones who designed your floral arrangement.
These are just a few of the many reasons why shopping local is best for you and for the local economy. After more than 30 years in the business, Bartee’s Flowers knows quality and we know our customers. The service we provide is unmatched and we stand by our work. Prom season is upon us and we’re here to help you choose a floral design to suit your unique style. Once you’ve picked a dress, the next step is to coordinate his tux and then choose flowers that will complete your look.
Bright colors are very popular for the 2012 prom season. Neon is really making a comeback and we’ve designed arrangements that will look great with a bright color palette. Think 80’s but with a fresh twist- colors like lime green, magenta and electric blue are selling like crazy and look great in pictures.
You’re probably wondering what kind of flowers to choose and we have put together a few of our favorites.
Gerbera Daisies
We love Gerbera Daisies because of their gorgeous color varieties and durability. You could order a small bouquet with a few different colors like pink, orange, green and yellow. Once you’ve chosen your flowers, we’ll design a boutonniere to match.
Calla Lilies
Calla lilies are simple, beautiful and timeless. White Calla Lilies match most styles and really stand out in pictures against a black tux or a brightly colored dress. Whether you carry two or three single Calla Lilies or incorporate them in a small bouquet, you are sure to look stunning.
Hydrangea
Hydrangea are a very popular flower for weddings and proms and it’s no wonder why! Spring is the perfect time of year to take advantage of the many color varieties Hydrangea have to offer. They look great paired with roses or by themselves and make a beautiful wristlet. One of the great things about hydrangea is that on one stem, there are always many different shades so they are easy to match.
If you’re attending a prom in Bennett, Bonlee, Bear Creek or any of the surrounding areas, stop by and let us design the best prom flowers for your special day. For best results, we recommend bringing your date along and a swatch of fabric that you’re trying to match. Contact us or just drop in- we’d love to meet you!

We could tell you the story ourselves, but here’s how the bride described it. Thanks, Katie, for letting us be a part of your amazing wedding!
Bartees was a wonderful part of making our destination wedding day very special. When we think of Bartees, we smile at the memories of our wedding day because of the beautiful flowers they provided. From Bennett to Southport with no problem, the flowers arrived on Friday before the wedding in coolers and boxes. They were gorgeous and they were perfect at our wedding. The creative style Bartees used to incorporate the specific flowers I wanted was just over the top. They utilized the star fish and accessories to capture our beach wedding theme. You would have never known our wedding flowers had been pre prepared , traveled 168 miles, in the middle of August, the day before wedding, and were just awesome. They are a local florist in our community and we wanted to see if a destination wedding would be an option for them. No problem, they said, with some skepticism from my mom, Bartees gave us choices to accommodate with our budget and worked with us on every detail. Thank you Bartees for a elegant, colorful, flower display that was so special at our destination wedding!!!
